Cooling System Installation for Peace of Mind

For many homeowners, their first thought when they decide to have an air conditioning system installed is where to find the cheapest price. It’s no secret that an AC system costs money, but looking for bargains when it comes to an investment for your home is never a good idea. Most of the time, you’ll find a company or person that will install it for a “discounted” price, and then you’ll never hear from them again. And when your system breaks down and you want answers, they are nowhere to be found. There’s nothing wrong with a great deal, but quality should be the first priority with your AC investment.
Not only will we meet or beat any competitor's price, we will be there if something does go wrong with your equipment.  We stand by our work and we will make it right.

Does My AC Need Repairs?

Another element that you get from a high quality service provider is support. If your AC needs repairs, it’s nice to know that you have a local option that has the experience and expertise to perform any repair you need. Some of the more common issues you might encounter with an AC system include temperature discrepancies between the thermostat and AC, broken sensors or wires, knocking or banging noises when the furnace is in use and elevated energy bills. If you notice any of these signs, or anything that seems out of the ordinary, call for professional attention before the problem escalates.

If you need to have an AC system installed, or your current system needs professional repairs, call Cannan Heating and Cooling at (618) 252-2665 in the Southern Illinois area so we can provide you with the results you need.

RULE NUMBER ONE

How Can a Dirty AC Filter Affect Air Quality?

Picture
If you slack off when it comes to changing your AC filter, and many homeowners do, you’ll be creating a scenario where the air quality inside your home isn’t nearly as good as it should be. The AC filter is supposed to trap particles in the air before they get into your air ducts and circulate throughout the house. When that filter is left alone to get dirty and clogged up, some of that dirt and dust will end up inside your living space, lowering the air quality.
When you have problems with your AC filter, the entire system suffers. It will keep rumbling along and you will still feel cool air coming out of your vents, but there are other issues that will crop up that will remind you of what is going on, and why you need a clean AC filter at all times.

DIY or We Can Help
Replacing your AC filter is one of those tasks that you can do yourself if you want, but you can also have your local cooling expert come in and do it for you. If you aren’t comfortable or if you don’t think you’ll remember to stick to the schedule, have someone come in and do it for you, so you can keep the air clean and your cooling bills down.
Do not run your AC system without a filter in place.  You will end up with some serious air quality and efficiency issues and possible equipment damage.
Remember to Stick to the Schedule
When you leave your AC filter to get dirty, you will also reduce the efficiency of the entire system because it will have to work harder to get the cool air through the filter and into the house. The key is to have your filter replaced at the right time, which is usually every six months to a year for an AC filter. The real answer is to have it changed whenever it gets dirty, which can vary from house to house, but the six months to a year rule usually works for most.

.
What Is that Leaking?
One issue that can happen when your AC is working hard during the summer months is leaking refrigerant. The refrigerant is a liquid that is found inside the evaporator coil, which is part of the air handler unit. The evaporator coil and its refrigerant chill the air that is sent back inside the house to keep you cool, so if that refrigerant is leaking, the air won’t be as cool as it needs to be. Leaking refrigerant usually requires repairs to your evaporator coil, so your system can produce cool air once again.

How Maintenance Reduces Future Damage
If you schedule AC maintenance every year shortly before the summer, the technician will clean your system completely and clear up any minor damage. The visit isn’t free, but it will help save you money down the road in costly repairs. When your AC receives maintenance just before it is to be put to the test in the hot summers, it will run like new and will last longer than if you don’t bother with maintenance at all.
Why Reputable Service is Essential
Whether you are having repairs, maintenance or a full system replacement, it’s always wise to rely on a reputable company that has ties in the community. Local experts provide peace of mind because you know they are trusted by fellow residents and there is an element of accountability with every job.
